My story

I love vintage china! I left my job at a national newspaper the end of December 2009 and started selling teacups and saucers at Portobello market in London, England. I'm addicted now and I think that everyone who comes to my stall is bitten by the bug too. I've started selling online too and I sell them individually or in special gift boxes. They are the perfect present, plus I include sugared almonds or chocolates too.

My husband and I moved to Bath so I could have a break from busy London life - we don't have kids but would like some and hoped that the slower pace of Somerset might bless us. It's a good life at the moment and Bath is beautiful. So I've got the best of both worlds. Quality of China

As all the china I sell has been owned before, some of the patterns might be worn slightly in places or the gilt rubbed away. I will always make a note of anything like this in the description. However, I buy the find the best quality I can find and you'll find as clear a note as I can make on the item description. I assure you though, that there are no chips or cracks on the rims and that everything will be packaged neatly and securely.

Delivery Policy

Packaging

All china is packed in double-walled cardboard boxes with packaging materials to ensure safety in transit. I use a mixture of recycled and recyclable materials.

Delivery of teasets and multiple items

Delivery for teasets and coffee sets and for multiple items is by courier (usually DHL) and you can expect it within 5-7 days of ordering. If you have opted for Next Day Delivery on your order form (check the option box), this should be ordered before 1pm the day before you would like it to arrive. It will be delivered via Royal Mail Special Delivery. Unfortunately it is a much higher charge and that is reflected in the price to you.

Delivery of single items and haberdashery

Delivery for single items like teacups and trios without giftboxes and teapots and any amount of haberdashery is sent by Royal Mail First Class Recorded post, unless you are ordering a substantial amount, in which case it will be sent by courier. Again, you can expect this in 5-7 days of ordering. Next Day Delivery for these items are sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery and again you should order these before 1pm the day before you wish them to arrive.

Cancellation/refund/return Policy

Exchange not refund on vintage china

I am sure you will be delighted with your purchase, but if you wish you had chosen another style I am happy to exchange it for you but no refunds are offered for vintage china unless the item arrives damaged (see following paragraph). If an exchange takes place, you will need to send the item back to me and pay for that postage and then I will pay postage on the return item. Please email mrsstokes@mrsstokes.com within 7 days of receipt of your goods to start this process. 

Other items

A full refund is offered on non-china items and mugs however. Please email mrsstokes@mrsstokes within 7 days of receipt to arrange sending the item back to me. Once received the full amount paid will be refunded to you. 

What to do if an item arrives broken or damaged

I take great care with packing and posting, but if an item arrives broken (rare but it can happen), however, then please email mrsstokes@mrsstokes.com attaching a jpeg of the  damaged item within 7 days of receiving it. If and the amount of your purchase will be refunded to whichever method of payment you used.
